Marvel Rivals - Blade ''Blade 2099'' Fan-made Costume - Concept Art

When looking at the skins in Marvel Rivals, I think Blade doesn't have any great ones... and drawing from the comics, his general appearance does not vary, so I wanted to give him something unique.

Now, Blade is a special case for me personally, as I have little to no interest in the vampiric themes, gothic aesthetics are not my favored style either.
So when I curiously googled ''Blade 2099'' (a theme common in the game) and found out not only Blade from that timeline exists, but is NINJA-themed - my favorite aesthetic / theme?! I WANTED to turn that into a fan-skin for sure!

However for this fan-skin, I made a lot of changes whilst trying to keep the general aesthetics of the original comic book design: recontextualized the rather typical / traditional ninja-looking suit to have more futuristic sci-fi features, like other 2099-themed skins in Rivals, like adding energy-lights, stylized the mask, replacing the bandage wrapping with synthetic sci-fi armor plating.

2099 Blade from the comics uses 2 katanas, but I thought they are too thin to replace the swords for the Rivals Blade. So I gave him a Dao broadsword for his main sword, and replacing the Dracula's Greatsword (on his back), I put 2 katanas together -to fill up the thickness- as a reference to the comic book design.

And yes, I'm aware ''Blade 2099'' is a different character completely (he's a Zombie doctor, not half-Vampire like in Rivals - I tried to display that with the less saturated skin-tone), but since skins for Psylocke also came from different characters sharing that title... I don't think this is an issue here either ;)
